Born in Saint-Severin-de-Proulxville George Déry has worked at the bakery instead before pursuing his career for 17 years,in the Îles-de-la-Madeleine. Upon returning to the region in 1980, he will spend a year on his farm in Saint-Tite, before opening the following year, its own bakery, Le P’tit Boulanger G. D. Inc. in Lac-à-la-Tortue.
In 1998, Mr. Déry buys organic bread bakery to centralize his operations. Five years later, he put his hand on the bakery La Fournée located on the boulevard des Hêtres, in Shawinigan. In 2004, he purchased a bakery in Quebec and brings production to Shawinigan. Four years later, he’s back in the same direction by making the purchase of the bakery Nutriforce Longueuil.
That year, Mr. Déry gradually begins to sell the business to his two children, Marco and Marlène Déry. But the grandfather of 74 years is still active in business.
The company manufactures biological products, traditional breads, pastries and gluten-free bread for celiac that are sold under several brand names, or Le P’tit Boulanger Bakery, Village Bakery and Nutriforce.
